Other cool blogs on being bad

Here are some other cool blogs that are also on the course being bad.

http://mkvdhillon.blogspot.com/

This is a nice blog as mandeep has discussed various views and has shown that in her blog. I like this blog as with each of her entries she's backed it up with her own opinions and her own viewpoint by stating good points and bad points of various issues.

http://harvi-beingbad.blogspot.com/

This is also a good blog with harvi showing what he/she thinks of various issues.

http://honeykadyblogscouk.blogspot.com/

This blog is really good with really truthful views, d has some good points in this blog like the following:

'Is being able to lie a good thing? No because it mens you are trying to deceive someone or vstating something that may not have happened. Would the world be a better place if everyone always told the truth?Yes because it is part of human flourishing it is a virtue. Are men and women very different when it comes to lies? Not really, as lying is something that can have the same quality. What are the worst kinds of lies? When you go against the command thou shall not kill,How can you lie about taking a persons life as life is a sacred gift from God.'

I totally agree with what she has said, the world would be a better place without lies.

http://binnie13.blogspot.com/

binnie has a good blog with some good points here, check it out. Here is a teaser:

'They then have the Nagar Keertan at local parks in each area. The Nagar Keertan is a pure celebration, and is an invitation to all regardless of caste, religion and creed to join the Sikhs in celebrating their religion and culture.
However this year all the Nagar Keertans were cancelled as their were many arguments from different religions and people were injured... Fingers crossed there is one next year.'

I agree hopefully next year the trouble makers will stay away from these great celebrations.

Telling Lies

I hate liars. Someone who lies can never be trusted that is one of my main thoughts of the whole issue of lying. I feel that trust is the most important issue when communicating with anyone, with trust comes loyalty, with loyalty comes unity and with unity comes trust. If we lie it will lead to the next person thinking why did that person lie? what was the need? so lying is generally used to hide something.

Some say that lying is ok in some situations such as helping someone, or for a good cause but i personally would not lie, i understand if someone lies for a noble cause to which i feel is not to bad to just telling a normal lie. But i have my own principles to which i stand for and lying i do not like.

Gambling

I see gambling as something of a addiction for people. The people who gamble are in their millions that come from £10 bets rising to £10,000 bets. There are various types of gamblers, some gamble as they have the money to gamble and they see it as a hobbie, others gamble as they get a buz out of it, some gamble to try and get rid of debts they have etc etc. There are also various types of gambling games that take place such cards, money machines, poker etc. Not just money is gambled for but items such as cars, expensive watches etc.

I am personally against all types of gambling as i see it as something for people to get addicted to. The people who run casinos know that everyone is not going to win in a night so they make millions just of people who gamble, gambling i see as a very addicting game to cheat people out of their hard earned money.

Nasty comedians

The term nasty comedians is made up of various types of humour that people feel is a sensitive issue to joke about. This humour includes ethnic jokes, racist jokes, character jokes. I personally feel that to an extent that most of the jokes are ok, they create laughter. It is down to the person who is listening to the joke to understand it.

Alot of people when they hear these jokes they can't help but to laugh at them as they are a very sensitive issue, and are very trutheful. The humour that is created out of these kind of jokes is quite high.

Battle for the silver wear

The battle has been long and hard and most likely it will be man utd who have won the race to lift the winners trophy for the premiership. With only 3 points seperating them and chelsea, utd still have a massive goal advantage over their london rivals with only just a few games left. It also looks good in the champions league with the semis to play, and after reaching the fa cup final it looks very likely that 1999 celebrations can be repeated.

Personally i think and want utd to win the leage at least as it would be a great thing for football, after the millions that chelsea have invested into their team these last few years compared to utd, it just shows that money and the best players in the world will not buy you everything, but i have to say jose is doing a great job by building a good chelsea team, all the pressure could of easily have done him but he has stuck in their and proved to his critics he is no quitter.

Religion

I am a Sikh and Sikhism is a really great, loving, understanding, spiritual and deep religion. Sikhism looks at all human beings as equal, man and woman are also seen as equal. I am a fully baptised Sikh and wear the Turban and wear the 5 K's which are known as the Kesh (Uncut hair) is seen as saintleness, Kanga (Comb) to keep the hair clean and tidy, Karra (Iron/steel bangle) a reminder to restrain from committing evil deeds, Kashera (Under shorts) reminds the sikh to restrain over passions and desires, Kirpan (sword) for self defence of the Sikh and everyone else. These are never to be seperated from the body.

Sikhs are to wake in the early hours around 3-4 am and recite nitnem (5 Prayers) which are known as the JapJI (Knowledge of God), Jaap Sahib (Salutations to the names of God), Twaprasad swaiyee (A humble request prayer), Chaupae (Prayer for the lords protection), Anand Sahib (prayer of bliss). Sikhs are to mediate by remembering God with every breath, also to earn a honest living, to help the needy, to protect the poor. A sikhs ultimate goal is to reach Sachkand ( the abode of God) .By praying and reading bani a Sikh is to control all its desires, to be calm and careing.

The reason why Sikhs carry swords with them is due to the fact of self defence, as a last resort the sword can be used not only to protect the Sikh, but protect those who cannot protect themselves. Sikhs believe in the 10 Gurus and the light of the 10 Gurus which is the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the Guru Granth Sahib Ji is the text which was sent to the Gurus directly by God, it contains great knowledge. There are various other texts that Sikhs also believe in such as, Sri Dasam Granth, Sri Sarbloh Granth, various Rehitname, Janamsakhis, Various Sau Sakhis, History Granths such as Sooraj Prakash Granth, Pracheen Panth prakash etc.

For me and alot of other people Religion is very important, but people interpret their own religion in different ways, for example i have my own views and ideas of what i think Sikhism is and how it should be followed, but another Sikh will have different views to me, it is the same for other religions.

Bandits and Outlaws

In week 6 the lecture was about bandits and outlaws, good gangters and bad gangsters, the bad - good guys and the bad - bad guys. One of those bandits that was mentioned in the lecture was Jesse James.

Jesse James one of those western bandits famous for the amount of crime he committed, the banks he robbed etc. There are different kinds of bandits, there are ones who steel just for the sake of it, there others who steel for a reason, e.g food for their family, steel for the poor, the most common person to do this was Robin Hood, whop stole from the rich but gave to the poor.

I feel that steeling is bad but there is a difference between steeling for your own greed, or steeling food just to feed yourself, as food you need to feed yourself, where if you are steeling money that is just greed.

There are other bandits who are known to the gangster world, such as Ned Kelly, pretty boy floyd, bonny and clyde just to name a few.

Infidelity

In week 5 we discussed infidelity in the lecture. Various issues were discussed concerning why people do it ranging from, lust to revenge. Other issues that came out of this were the ones that what happens to those who are close to those who cheat, some partners never find out that their other half have cheated on them.

I personally feel that cheating is wrong, as if couples are having problems they should discuss it before one of them cheats, it would be much better to call the relationship off rather than to cheat first, in this way they both know where each other stand, this is what relationships are about the foundation stone being trust.

Field Trip

A field trip is going to be organised and we have been invited to put across our suggestions on where we should go. Some people have suggested nightclubs as alot happens in clubs which responds to 'Being Bad'.

I feel that maybe we could go to the cinema to watch maybe a good film such as a horro, comedy, thriller as various situations arise in a cinema, as well as the film to which being bad responds to. This is one good idea to relate to being bad. There are other ideas of maybe going to a historical museum to see what happened in histroy to cause such important events.

Smoking - The Disease

Smoking - The Disease

In week 2 the lecture of the issue of smoking was discussed. I am a Sikh and in Sikhism smoking is a major sin, not just for the general grossness of it, but to what it does to people. I feel that it is obvious that smoking is one of the biggest threats this world has ever faced. In the lecture it was shown that smoking has become a culture, and it is also shown to be cool by the media. I find it amazing that something which is so dangerous can be promoted by the media as smoking causes death, the amount of diseases and health problems that smoking causes is very deadly.

Smoking causes 114,000 deaths per hour in the UK. Some of those diseases and problems include various types of cancer, heart disease, coronary artery disease, hemorrhage (stroke), major stomach problems leading to cancer, etc. The list of effects does not stop, health risks which also include our children contracting problems as well.

What has to be looked at is why do people smoke? there are millions of people around the world that smoke, reasons that include peer presure some smoke or started as their friends were doing it , where others do it as they see people smoking on tv, films in which smoking has been shown to be cool and seductive. Others also smoke as they blame stress, and they say that it calms them down. I feel that this smoking problem needs to be tackled in such a way that people no what could happen to them if they are smoking, or if they wanted to do it, as smoking is a drug which is addictive, and it kills. I feel the goverment needs to do more to tackle this problem.

The companys who produce cigerrates, cigars etc are making billions of pounds in this market, someone who is making so much money would not want to stop. I think the main promation that smoking gets is through the media, everybody has a tv, watches films, this is where smoking is seen, this is because the ciggerate companys pay the media so much money that they have to promote it. People also argue that there is nothing wrong with smoking to which i totally disagree with, there are no positives in smoking. Money is being made by this not just by the companys but also the goverment, i feel that the goverment should counter this problem as peoples lives are at risk.
